Since everyone is doing it, why wouldn't I do it? I will think back about the year 2013 and write it all down, although it will not be about my life, but about any trends I might have joined (or not).
First trend: ombre hair! It started at the end of 2012, but the trend went crazy in 2013. Many, many, many girls (including me) have an ombre. If, however, you've been living under a rock, it basicly is brown hair that slowly fades into blond hair. The perfect example is Zoella (check her out if you haven't already)
Another big hair thing this year, was growing your hair out. Lots of blond girl suddenly had brown hair at their roots and some superstars came back from their hairdresser with even more grown out hair. All I have to say about that is: it suits you or it doesn't. I'm a fan of it, but not everyone looks that good with it.
Another big thing was wearing less make up and having a more natural look, or that's what I saw. People I was used to wear a lot of make up, suddenly showed up with a very small amount of make up on their face. Don't get me wrong, they still had a nice coverage, their eyes just had to do it with less. A nice example of this are the girls of Little Mix. While they first were all about bright colours and balt looks, they changed it completly around the time 'Salute' was released (and a bit earlier).
When it comes to clothing, the spring/summer collections had nice pastels in it and a bit of pop of colour was allowed, later in the year black became the new black and people wore burgundy, black and white. Totally what I like and honestly, I loved both trends. So you won't hear me complaining.
When it came to nailpolish, I don't pay to much attention to trends (I know I should), but I've been wearing some pastels, white nailpolish, dark reds and a french manicure. Also, I think the trend of spending a lot of time in nail arting has faded away a little bit. Easier from me, but Cutepolish still has some nice tutorial I need to try out.
Youtube and the British Invation. Marcus Butler, Pointlessblog, Sprinkle of Glitter, Zoella, Tanya Burr, Jim Chapman, Jacksgap, Dan and Phil, Caspar Lee, Thatcherjoe... If those names don't ring a bell, you've missed out on something. Ofcourse I can't forget about Tyler Oakley, MacBarbie07 (aka. Bethany Mota), O2L (Connor, Ricky, Kian, JC...) because those got big as well, but it's all about the british who all got 1 million subscribers and more.
And lastly: music. I got to say, Miley Cyrus had a big impact on a lot of people. I'm not talking about you liking it or not, but she has shocked the world by twerking and totally changing her style. I think it's save to say music got a bit more 'dirty' and people don't hide things they usually did. Again, wether you like it or not, is up to you. Ofcourse other artist got bigger and better as well and not all songs were 'dirty'.
Anyway, 2013 has been a good year and I hoop you feel the same about that. I'm hoping 2014 brings good luck to everybody. Hopefully I'll be able to upload tomorrow.
Lots Of Love,
Me
