Unless you have been living under a rock, it's no news to you One Direction has its own perfume. It's been launched at the end of the summer and since then I always wanted to order it, but never did because I wanted to try it out first. Yesterday, I went shopping with some friends and while we were on our way back, I saw a big poster of 'Our Moment' in the window of a perfumery. I went in and tried it out. To be fair, I didn't expect it to be too good, but I bought it! This is my review.
Because the look is always important, I'm going to start by reviewing the outside. You can see as many pictures as you like, it will always look a little different in real life. The packaging of the bottle is in my opinion quite fine. It has faces on it, which can often lead to a messy effect. This, however, is not the case with the packaging of Our Moment. It actually is really nice composed and lead to fine result.
The colour is a nice pink that matches with the fragrances scent. Also I'm painting my room in a slightly more peachy pink, so I think it's very nice. The gray flowers on it are not something I would've chosen, but I think it's ok. When you open the packeging, you see that the carton on the inside is a little peachier (so basically the paint I'm using for my room) which I like a lot.
Onto the bottle: In my opinion the bottle is a little too much 'little girl', but this depents on your tast. The colour is fine (since I'm quite a pink girl). The cap is big compared to the bottle, but that's because I've bought the 30ml one (I always do this because I like to change perfumes once in a while) and I actually think it makes the whole look cute. I also like the idea of the crown, but I don't think it's the best crown ever.
However, I can't complain too much about it, because the crown is not too childish and I can imagine that's quite hard to achieve. The thing that I think that makes the perfumebottle that bit 'little girl' is the tulle inside the crown. Don't get me wrong, if it wouldn't be there, the bottle wouldn't be finished and it would look as nice as it looks. It just adds that 'little girl' look a little bit. But when you look at the price, no one would complain about it (neither do I, I just wanted to give my own opinion). It may not look like a Marc Jacobs bottle, it's fine and cute enough. A little side note is that I noticed how small the bottle looks in my hands when I compare it with Harry ;).
But when it comes to buying, the look is nothing compared to the smell of the fragrance. Please notice that this is how it reacts on my skin and this is different for every one. Also I tested it quite late on the day while it's better to test a perfume in the morning (when you've only smelled a couple of things and your nose is relatively fresh). And the last thing before I start: it's the only perfume I tried out that day and I walked outside almost right after I sprayed some fragrance on my skin. When I liked it and all of my friends told me to get it (even those who don't like One Direction that much), I walked back in and bought it.
This is also my very first impression of the fragrance and I'm not very good in describing scents. I'm going to work with comparing the different notes to other perfumes I know which is definatly not the way to do that since every perfume has its own notes. Hope you understand...
When I first sprayed it on my wrist, waved a bit with it and smelled it, it made me think of the top not of DKNY, fresh blossom. That's my first fragrance I've purchased (well accept the Barbie one) and I actually still own it. So I thought 'been there, done that'. But the middle note is totally different from DKNY fresh blossom. It reminds me of Escada, Cherry In the Air, a limited edition perfume I was thinking about buying (but never did). It smells like (well obviously) cherries and other sweet fruit. finally, the base note. This can often be rubbish and a disappointment for the entire fragrance. But it Our Moment, I liked it alot. This note made me think of Red by Christina Aguilera. It's very sweet but with a feminin touch that's a little bit 'darker'.
Of course 'Our Moment' isn't the most complicated perfume like the big perfume houses (think Guerlain, Chanel...) but it's affordable with a nice scent that I would wear even if it wasn't One Direction. If you haven't tried it, definatly go check it out.
Lots of love,
Missy
