Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin REVIEW!

A new review for My New Year's Resolution! (click the link to know what I mean). I mentioned that it'd probably be a Rimmel one, but I changed my mind last minute. I had a Rimmel one so I thought I'd play it save and just get another one (with a different name) as I quite liked it. However, Rimmel is in the back in my drugstore, so I had to pass all the other brands first. And when I was walking by I saw 'NEW!' on the Maybelline counter and I can't resist a new thing. I didn't have time left however and I didn't want to wait another hour on a train as I had to go somewhere. I thought 'whatever' and grabbed the Maybelline one and thought 'if I dislike it, what's the worst that can happen?', payed the product, got to the station, took the train and didn't get too late.

So I didn't really do my research for this one. No problem, I got home and searched a bit on the world wide web. and it seemed like it is a well loved foundation. I mean it's a glass container, a nice pump, it doesn't look that weird or special. Why wouldn't it be a nice foundation? It promisses you to have better skin in 3 weeks, a flawless finish and it should stay all day long. Big promisses, Maybelline! Also, it says to even out your skintone, but that's what all foundations were meant to do.

Now, onto the colour range. I will tell you that it is a quite matte foundation, but not too matte. Which indeed gives you that flawless look. But, depending on where you live, it's only available in 6 to 8 shades. And I wouldn't mind it at all, if my shade was in that range. However, it's not! I bought it in 'Ivory', which is the lightest colour available for me. I know there's a Light Beige, which would be a lot more appropriate, but I can't get my hands on that. Which obviously bothers me.

The packaging looks fine and really light, but when the foundation gets out, I feel like it is way darker and a bit more orange, pink-isher. Leaving that out, I think it is an amazing foundation! It has that flawless look, it does cover up, however not the most. I would say light to medium coverage and it's a bit buildable. So if you just have a bit of red cheeks or tiny imperfections, this is good for you. On the packaging, it says that it's for normal skin and I would say that it's also good for dry skin as it doesn't make my skin dry. For superb dry skin, I think this could be a little different, but I like it. I doesn't irritates my skin either, because I have quite sensitive skin too.

Lastly, I think I like to apply it with my fingers better. That's also what it says on the site. I'm not sure whether it stays all day, because it is the wrong colour for me and that means that I don't wear it all day as I'm picky I can't leave it on. However, I feel like it would last some time. I'll do a review on that later when the colour is right for me (I'm guessing this will be around April), next to the other review. And let me sum up the pro's and contra's again.

PRO:

  • Gives you a flawless look and doesn't look like you're wearing make up
  • It brightens (I forgot to mention this)
  • Budget!
  • Very good for people with not too much imperfections and redness
  • promisses to make your skin look better in 3 weeks
  • doesn't dry your skin, nor making it greasy
CONTRA:
  • Not available in too many colours and the lightest and darkest shades aren't available everywhere
  • Not for someone who struggles with acne or redness as it doesn't give enough coverage
That's it! Sorry it's a bit messy, but I can't get the right colour. As soon as it matches, I'll do an update. I've been ill last 4-5 days, so I didn't write anything. I wanted to do some more Valentine things, but I've been unable. So I think you can expect a Valentine storm on my blog, very soon. I want to do some DIY's as well as an outfit or make up blogpost. Hope you enjoyed anyway,

Lots Of Love,
Me
