Canon IXUS 132 Review

Recently, I bought this new camera, because I needed one. I didn't want to get a camera that was too big though, because I think they are really unhandy when it comes to trips and even taking pictures from a small distance. I have a 'professional' Canon one, as well as a Nikon one (I prefer Canon, because I grow up those camera's so I'm used to use them- also when I say 'I' I mean my mum and dad). I'm not able to take a picture of my camera for obvious reasons. Today I got a little time to test out my camera a bit more (not everything, this will be clear if you read on). I got some pictures of random objects so I could show you some of the effects.

I want to point out that it has HD sound (when you're filming), it comes with a charger and it has 16.1 pixels. Also it has an optical zoom of 8x. Lovely, but not what I'm about to talk about. My camera has some things that I haven't test out with any other camera so to me this is pretty awesome. I know lost of camera's will have this right now, but I want to prove that this one is quite fine, definatly for it's price! Little disclamer: Canon did not pay me to do this. I'm not trying to brag and I'm trying to sell this to you in any posible way.

It has the usual like Program, Portret and Auto ofcourse. But these are some I like.
1) Smart Shutter
I already like the first one. So basically, this is something that recognices a smile and automatically takes a picture when he detects a smile. I tested it and it worked (sometimes a little less, but it did it every time)

2) Low light
So lets just say, it's dark and you want to have a nice picture of one of your new things you hung on the wall. The lightning is poor, but you have to take a picture from it for your friend. Great, I did this (of my heat tools that were on the lowest shelf, where the sun almost never shines).

Looks pretty clear, huh? the composition is my bad.
3) Fish Eye-Effect
I have a fish eye lens, but this does not fit on my tiny camera. However, I found this function and even I normally don't use it, I find it pretty funny.

Fish Eye!
4) Minature effect
This blurres out the top and bottom part of your picture, which focusses the attention on the middle part that will appear a bit smaller. I though this would be a too fake and harsh effect, but I kind of like it.

look at my cat, now look at my walls
5) Toy Camera effect
Basicly Black Edges around your picture, but a bit different than what you'd get on PicMonkey. Not my most loved picture.

Well, who would've guessed? A cat again!

6) Monochrome
Eeverything in one colour but different shades. I haven't actually tried it, it just doesn't sound as tempting to me.

7) Super Vivid
The names says what it is. Pictures with very bright colours.

8) Poster Effect
This is the effect that I'm least surprised about. I though it would be a bit more 'poster'-alike. As that what it's meant to do. Let me show you a pic.
Poster Effect
9) Colour Accent and Colour Swap
Says what it does, I'm not an expert when it comes to that effect, so I can't really show you. I have actually never seen one that was really properly and nice. If you know one, let me know!

10) Snow
I wasn't able to test this out, since there's no snow. Put they are forcasting some. So maybe, if it doesn't melt to soon, I'll get a picture of this soon. However, something in me says that it will be a nice effect.

11) Fireworks
Something else I wasn't able to test for you. This also has some of the Vivid thing in it, which would make you firework more poppin'. Unfortunally, I'll probably won't see firework soon.

12) Long Shutter
Although it works, I'm personally not such a fan of this as I always thing the photo is taken and it still has to shut which leaves me with blurry pictures.

You have an assistancy to take panoramic pictures and you can set you colours accourding to what you want to photograph. I hope you liked it and it wasn't all too bad.

Lots Of Love,
Me
